‘The Deer in the Wood’ – a poem by Joy.
In the hush cold morning breeze,
As sunbeams glide over the skies,
In the beautiful rainforest clearing,
A solitary deer awakens to another day,
The male deer lifted huge, heavy antlers,
Cautiously, among lush green covers,
A white lace reddish, brown coat emerges,
With graceful, long-tip ears and watchful eyes.
The day of the deer in the woods begins,
Water droplets fall as it quietly feeds,
All at once, explode a myriad of beautiful colours,
Across the morning skies and over our Deer in the Wood.
