Mariam, my friend, sent me a breathtaking photo of a field ablaze with bright flowers in the Himalayan valley. Inspired by its vibrant beauty, I felt compelled to capture the scene in acrylics.
Using artistic licence, I transformed the sky’s color and shifted the mountain’s sunlit side, infusing the landscape with dramatic contrasts. The field, stretching toward the mountain, burst with countless shades of crimson and scarlet. Achieving this effect required patient layering, each brushstroke building depth and energy until the scene came alive.
I am especially drawn to painting light and shadows, and how they can evoke the promise of a hopeful day. My greatest wish is that my painting stirs that same sense of optimism in those who see it. In a world that often feels uncertain, a little hope can help us persevere.
