Hello guys; it’s Easter todayππ. I wanted to share my thoughts on this painting I did some time ago. However, it seemed appropriate to post it today. Once again, it is a watercolour painting. I tried to capture the direction of the sunlight in this forest. It is imperfect, but I thought the bunny looked cute, just like Mikaπ€£π€£π€£.
I looked up why Easter is associated with rabbits and eggs. Many of you may know, but for those who are like meπππ€π€, I wish to share the story. Easter rose from the festival of Eoster, which honoured the goddess of fertility and spring. The goddess’ symbol was a rabbit that has traditionally stood for high productivityπ°π°π°π°π°.
It made its way to America in the 1700s when German immigrants to Pennslyvania brought their tradition of an egg-laying hare named ” Oscheter Haws”. Legend has it that the bunny would lay colourful eggs as gifts for good children. So kids would make beautiful nests for the bunny to lay eggsπ« π« . Well, don’t we all love such stories when we often wonder how rabbits lay eggsπ€π€π€.
From a Christian perspective, Easter eggs represent the resurrection of Jesus and his emergence from the tomb. Eggs were forbidden food during the period of Lent. Hence the art of decorating and enjoying them on Easter Sunday was a huge celebrationπππ.
That was a summary of the Easter bunny. I wish everyone a Happy Easter, and enjoy your feastππππ.

Very interesting story
Thanks for the sharing. All this while I believe Easter is only a religious festival
