Hope in Spring

Hi, I shared a line and wash watercolour painting with you last Friday. It was a piece I found on Pinterest, but I made it my own by adding my three gals and myself to the scene. Those birds were my touch to bring a Spring vibe to the painting.

I received many comments about Spring and the lines. I used short, controlled strokes to create those straight lines, ensuring each stroke was precise and added to the overall composition. I added shadows to create depth, using a darker shade of the same color to give the painting a three-dimensional feel.

However, not everyone was a fan. A regular critic felt it was more like school art. But I see it differently. This type of painting is my escape, my calm in the storm. When inspiration is scarce, I turn to this style. And it made me realise that sometimes we need to do simple things that don’t drain our energy. Even if it’s just sipping a cup of coffee, that’s okay🤗🤗🤗.
