Mile Zero

1st November 2024 Joy

Hello! My recent hiking adventure brought my friends and myself to Mount Kuwai.  I present an acrylic piece when we beheld the splendour of God’s handiwork at Mount Kuwai’s summit. Notice that it overlooks Teluk Melano,  situated at the north western tip of Sarawak, along the coast of South China Sea.

Many expeditions and solo adventures have been launched from Teluk Melano, known as ‘Mile Zero’ of the Pan Borneo Highway, to the Tip of Borneo in Kudat, Sabah, the 1,600km crossing.  An example was  a veteran endurance runner who took 21 days to complete crossing Malaysia’s two largest states and the sovereign state of Brunei.

As for our adventure, braving the scorching sun, painful blisters, ankle injuries was all worth what awaited us.  Thank you.
