Silver Lining

23rd December 2024 Joy

Hi….   Joy here. I looked up the origin of “silver lining” and found that John Milton coined the phrase from his 1634 poem “Comus”.  Since then, the silver lining has been used to encourage someone to be optimistic.   It also means that even the worst events or situations have some positive aspect…or remind a sad or discouraged friend that there is a silver lining to cheer him/her up.

So, in a simple illustration: After I added silver linings to the petal folds, the pink flowers popped.  It taught me not to be hasty but to find the silver lining in every situation to accentuate a picture.  I had to trust and not be afraid of failing.  I hope that we will be encouraged to look for that silver lining as 2025 looms ahead😊😊.
