I received many compliments on my watercolour painting of the hens. I was inspired to paint the hens by photos from Guence and Chiam. They both keep a mini-zoo in their homes. I have a story to this painting, but it is entirely my imagination and fictional😍😍.
“Once upon a time, in a province, there was a leader full of himself and surrounded by henchmen. The majority of the people in that province were poor and lived on their land. They reared chickens for eggs and meat. However, the leader had strange ideas of selling the eggs to other provinces and keeping the profits for himself. The hens came to know about his agenda. In my painting, there are four hens. The one in the foreground is the leader. She found out that the humans are going from house to house, collecting the eggs. After a hen-council meeting, she and the others hid their eggs in unusual places. They realised that life begins with an egg. If they don’t protect their eggs, they will become extinct. Hence, that furtive look on that hen. The hen behind is hiding the eggs and the fourth hen is hiding the tracks to the hiding place.
As a result of that wise decision, the hens thrived and survived. The villagers were able to have a great source of protein. The leader developed dementia, and his henchmen dropped him and fled to faraway provinces. That province thrived and became a model of survival. The hens proved that wise decisions that unite everyone are the only way to survive and thrive”.
I hope you liked my story about this painting. I know many of you had many thoughts on it. I would love to hear your interpretations and reflections on the story. But the theory is that the hens survived and still give us eggs. What an Eggciting story🤗🤗.
