8th September 2024 Joy
I have posted a watercolour painting of a bird perched on a tree with a poem below:
Autumnal Bird
As colours change in the forest,
Marking the start of falling autumn leaves,
Yellows, oranges, reds litter the floors,
Sunlight wanes, the air cools.
Look! A bluebird is up high perched, alone
Her expectant eyes scans the distance,
Blue highlights mark her wings,
Her chest of greying tones.
A chorus erupts above the trees,
In unison, our bluebird joins,
Not a minute too soon her companion returns,
Together perch under red autumn hearts.
