2nd December 2024 Cheng Hwai Jen
When one door closes, another opens.
As the December school holidays approached, I looked forward to spending more time with my grandsons. But alas, my daughter-in-law told me, to my disappointment, that she had signed them up for more enrichment activities and courses and that I could only have them on Friday nights until Saturday at 1 p.m. weekly. I was very disheartened and disappointed.
However, one day, while my hubby and I were lingering near the Orchard area near Apple @ Orchard, I was struck by the idea, ‘Why don’t I learn how to draw with an Apple Pencil?’
The Apple@Orchard staff told me that they conduct free courses on using Apple mobile devices and taught me on the spot how to sign up for such free one-hour courses at Today at Apple. That’s how it all started. Now, there is no turning back.
Once my passion is fueled, nothing can stop me from creating new digital art daily. It’s more fun than playing Sudoku and other online games. 😜

Hi Jen
Thank you for posting on this website. I am so proud that you chose not to let a setback affect how you use your time. Now, you will allow your creativity to flow and enjoy your grandkids during the weekend. At our age, pursuing something new is suitable for our brain activity. So please take it as a gift that you acquired accidentally. In art, they call it “happy accidents”.😂😂
I always love when people in the 60s try to learn something new. There is something magical about learning a new skill. Never let anyone stop you from doing what you yearn to do. Having known you for many years, I can see that you never let any obstacle deter you. Keep going and keep posting on this website.🤗🤗
