1st October 2024 Kala & Beena
Hello, everyone; it is my greatest pleasure to write about what this painting inspired. This painting of a mystery house is a digital art by my friend Kala.
When I saw this painting, it brought back memories of all my adventures with Enid Blyton. I loved her books and read most of them. I felt this was the house that either the Famous Five or Secret Seven would chance upon when they ventured out to picnic.
Their picnic basket would have sardine sandwiches, melt-in-the-mouth shortbread biscuits, ham and bacon, pineapple chunks, ginger beer, lemonade, macarons, and, of course, chocolate. I would make my mom create all this stuff for me. Of course, she didn’t know baking, so some stuff, she would buy. I recollect for a school trip to one of the parks, she made delicious sardine sandwiches (Indian style, with a unique blend of spices and flavors), and everyone loved them😆😆.
Those books were more than just stories to me. They were a gateway to a world of adventure and imagination. I’ve recreated midnight parties and ventured into places we were told not to go, all in the safe confines of our childhood. Looking back, I’m reassured that we were always safe. It’s a comforting thought that these adventures, though daring, were always within the bounds of safety🤗🤗.

I love Kala’s painting. But my idea of a getaway place for the Enid Blyton’s heroes was a charming treehouse where the heroes would gather for tea and plan their adventures.
Hahaha,,
The ones that i recollect were mostly on land n finding some abandoned barn or old house.
Thanks Jen
