When tasked with recreating a painting by the lesser-known artist Ferdinand du Puigaudeau, I was immediately drawn to his unique style. Born in Nantes on April 4, 1864, Puigaudeau’s work is a testament to his fascination with light. In 1919, he dedicated four years to preparing for an exhibition in New York, a project that was his life’s work. However, the exhibition was tragically cancelled at the last minute, a devastating blow that had a profound effect on his mental well-being, leading him to seek solace in alcohol. He eventually passed away on September 19, 1930.
When I captioned my painting, ” Light can only shine in the darkness. Be the light”, I was overwhelmed by the response from many of you. In my view, anyone can be a light. Yumi is my light when I am home🐶. Many of my friends light up my day. We all have within us the capacity to brighten one another. I was deeply moved when some of you shared that my art brightens your Fridays. Your support means the world to me, and I am truly grateful. Even though I am a beginner in art, your encouragement fuels my passion. So, my dear readers, let’s continue to “Be the Light” for each other🫠🫠.

Beena you have captured the intensity of the emotions of “being in the light”..metaphorically..or just being in a space filled with the golden glow of the full moon on an otherwise dark night..
You have done full justice to the play of light and colours ..fabulous😍😍❤️❤️
Thanks Suchi for your intepretation. We often overlook “the light” and take things for granted. Light is our hope in this world.
