30th September 2025 Mrs Lathika & Beena
Hello, everyone! I just had to share this painting of a Rajasthani Dancer by Lathika. Her use of acrylics is so realistic, I nearly thought it was a photograph!
Here’s a little bit of history about Rajasthan. It embodies a rich tradition of art and culture. Women wear vibrantly coloured, long, swirling skirts paired with blouses decorated with mirrors or shells. Rajasthan is known as the “Land of the Kings.” The royals have always supported art and culture among the rural communities. Men and women perform dances at all festivals to celebrate joy, happiness, and optimism about life. Wearing colourful attire promotes better mental health.
If you take a few minutes to reflect, have you noticed that when you feel low, you tend to wear dull-coloured clothes? There is science to support why people choose bright-coloured clothes.
I’m genuinely eager to hear your thoughts on the painting or perhaps your own travel experiences in Rajasthan. Your insights are always so interesting and valuable to me.
