Inspired by Monet

Hello everyone, I am delighted to share Susan’s unique crochet water lilies with you. Her work, inspired by the water lilies in her pond, is a beautiful addition to our website.

Many artists find water lilies to be a great source of inspiration. Monet is known for his water lilies, just as Van Gogh is recognised for his sunflowers. Artists are drawn to the water lilies because of the shifting reflections, the nuances of light at various times of the day, and the tranquillity of the water. In Buddhism and Hinduism, they signify resurrection and spiritual rebirth due to their nightly closing and morning reopening. For the Japanese, water lilies symbolise tranquillity and balance.

We would love to hear your thoughts on water lilies. The sight of water lilies in a pond always brings a smile to my face. What about you?
