Hello everyone. I posted the painting of the Terrace of Cafe au Nuit on Friday. It is one of Van Gogh’s well-known paintings. I painted it using acrylic on white paper. It needed many layers. It depicts a cafe in Arles, France, on September 16, 1888. I have always admired this painting, and I have a similar print framed and hung on the wall of my living room. Now, I am proud that I painted it.
Regrettably, on Saturday, I discovered Yumi chewing one corner of the painting after a siesta. She stopped, but I didn’t feel any anger towards her. I realized it was my fault for placing it within her reach. I carefully collected the tiny bits of paper and managed to salvage the painting. This incident has taught me a valuable lesson in responsibility and patience.
Therefore, in the future, I will take a moment to pause and reflect before reacting in anger. I would love to hear your thoughts on this and how you handle similar situations.

Beena, you are incredibly kind and patient. Few people can do what you did.
Hi Jen
I find kindness easier to manage than anger. When I lose my temper, I lose sleep over that. Over time with tons of practice, I have slowly learnt to understand kindness.

Well put dear Beena..its not Yumi’s fault definitely..we take responsibility for our actions..prevention of calamity is the key..pause reflect, realign ..and you did right.
As for the painting ..you have brought out the elements in Van Goghs piece so beautifully..the joy..the comfort of the night sky with the warmth of the artificial lights..the street life..😍😍🧡🧡🌷🌷
Thanks Suchi for the reflective thoughts. It is always a knee jerk reaction to place blame on others. I suppose we dont like to address our inadequacies.
