JOY

25th March 2024 Kala & Beena

Hello everyone! I am excited to share with you a beautiful crochet work by Kala, who has contributed a lot of her art to this website. She recently took up Granny Square crochet and has poured enormous energy into it💃🏽.

To make this table runner, Kala had to stitch together many squares of crochet work. Even though she noticed some mistakes when she was 80% done, she pushed through because crochet gave her so much joy. She relished those happy moments🤗.

During our conversation this morning, Kala told me that crocheting helps her to be in the present moment. That’s exactly what we need right now. We should focus on being in the moment rather than dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. If being present can bring us joy, why not cherish each moment? That’s what I saw in Kala’s beautiful table runner: the word “JOY” jumped out at me. I didn’t see any flaws. Let me know your thoughts on this topic😊🙏

  1. I totally agree with you and Kala.
Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections. I can’t see the imperfections.
We ought to see and apply that in friendships too not to focus on mistakes or imperfections .

  2. This is a marvellous piece of creation congrats. The intricate design and blending of colors is a treat to the eye and the mind.Needs a lot of time and tremendous patience to complete this work.Truly it’s a masterpiece.Well done.

  3. I had a similar experience as Kala when I was consumed by my passion to sew back in 2016 when I first bought my Juki sewing machine. Everyday I would jump out of bed, raring to sew. At the onset of pandemic, I was consumed by my passion to draw and paint everyday. Nothing else mattered during those 2 phases of my life. 😊

  4. Indeed a JO Y to see such a beautiful runner .. love the color combination. … even I do a lot of crochet to keep me ever busy and satisfied by the out come ….
It is an art work apt for us as we grow old…
Keep it up Kala… it is perfect.

  5. I love the table runner. Well done, Kala! The loveliness of the whole piece has erased whatever flaws there may be that are known only to the creator. I can only see a thing of beauty.

    1. Yes Nandu, that is spot on. And you enjoy every moment of it. Thats why some people who are unhappy in their workplaces, should change jobs. Only when your heart is there for that job, you can perform well. Many just take up a job because that is what they got. It takes a brave person to see that difference.
