29th May 2025 Kala & Beena
Hello everyone. Today, I would like to share a series of paintings by Kala, known for her unique style and vibrant colours. They all depict houses, a recurring theme in her work. She used gouache for two of the paintings, a medium she employed for the first time to create vivid and textured landscapes. The third painting, featuring the fountain, was created using digital art, a technique with which she has been experimenting.
Kala is very excited to use gouache. Gouache has been around for twelve centuries. It is used like watercolour, yet it is opaque. It can be rewetted and blended with other colours. Consequently, it is a versatile medium to use.
I adore paintings of houses and people. They symbolise life. Life is all about challenges. Each painting tells a story about the lives of individuals. Even an abandoned house has a narrative. When we gaze at a painting, our minds begin to ponder. What is happening inside the house?
Let us remember that both good and bad, and at times evil, may occur. Nonetheless, let us hope that, in the end, good will prevail. Please share your thoughts on such paintings.
