Let the Sunshine In

9th August 2024 Priya & Beena

Hi, I would like to post the musings by Priya to my watercolour painting of the sunflower. I need help with painting flowers๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’. I don’t know which way I should paint the petals to give that appearance of curling inwards or outwards. Many liked the painting today, and I am relieved. Many felt there was an air of randomness to the petals๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ. Most loved the orange-yellow hues of the petals. Muru felt my stalk was too short for the big flower๐Ÿ˜Š. I will continue to improve my skills in painting flowers. Please continue to critique my painting so that I can improve๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒป.

I look forward to posting my art each Friday and reading your comments๐Ÿ˜Š.

Thoughts by Priya

Just as sunshine is essential for plants, our presence and support are vital to those around us. Never miss an opportunity to smile or greet others; always strive to spread warmth and positivity in their lives. Like the sunshine that breaks through after a storm, your presence and support can make a significant difference to someone facing hardship. Even a tiny gesture can spark a huge change or bring hope to someone in need. So, let your inner light shine and share it with others.

Once again, I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your continuous support. Your feedback and encouragement mean the world to me. Let’s continue this journey together.

  2. Your painting is great Beena !
The sunflower looks so original, that it doesn’t look as though you’ve painted it..
Your thoughts about spreading warmth & positivity made me think.
    Keep it up.

    1. Thanks Shiela for your positive support to my early phase in my art hobby. Yes, I try to infuse hope in my writing as we only hear chaos in this world.

      Much love

  3. I like what Priya wrote and just hope I can bring a little bit of sunshine to those around me. Beena, thanks for sharing Priyaโ€™s thoughts with us.

I love your beautiful sunflower painting, so bright and cheery.

    1. Hi Jen

Thanks, Jen, many of you look forward to the painting on Fridays. When I paint I am not sure what I will paint and how it will impact anyone. So far, most of you have supported my art and some give me positive feedback.

Thanks Jen for always giving your comments.

  4. The sunflower looks like a sun shining on us with warmth and good cheer. The title โ€œLet the sunshine inโ€ sounds familiar and stirred something at the back of my mind. Of course – The song, Aquarius/ Let the Sunshine in! Very much a song of the 60s but we are still definitely in need of โ€œHarmony and Understanding, sympathy and trustโ€ yearned for in the song and which is embodied in this painting and title.

    1. Thanks Nyuk,

Hmm, now that you said it, I kind of remember that song, maybe those words were embedded in my mind.

      Thanks
      Beena
