Hi everyone, it is that time of the year when Indians worldwide celebrate the festival of lights. Strangely, anyone can observe this light. The essence of this festival is about the light within you. It is about good over evil. Where there is light, decency is supposed to prevail.

I painted this oil lamp with a single light to denote that light within all of us. I used watercolour paints and created a rustic lamp. I felt so much happening in this world with soaring prices that buying lamps to light may appear like an extravagant indulgence. Maybe I am overthinking. The purpose of that rusticity is that one can still have a simple celebration with love and kindness.
