Series 1
Wendy, our regular artist who specialises in Chinese style, sent me these beautiful paintings of mountains and waterfalls. She predominantly works in watercolour. I created this as part of a series since they share the same theme.
Mountains and waterfalls are vital for our sustainability. Trees and foliage growing on mountains prevent soil erosion during heavy rain. The trees create a canopy that shields against torrential rains, and leaf litter on the forest floor slows water runoff, helping to reduce flooding. The roots form a network that holds the soil together, and they absorb excess water, releasing it into the atmosphere and helping to cool our temperatures.
Therefore, I hope humans recognise the importance of nature’s roles and act to protect them.
