Patience

Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I wrote something, since the 400th story. I posted this painting of a cliff with a lighthouse in the distance. The technique used in this painting is called Pointillism.

Pointillism, a technique that uses dots to create an image, has a rich history. It was first introduced in 1886 by George Seurat and Paul Signac, as a branch from Neo-Impressionism. Interestingly, the term ‘Pointillism’ was initially coined by other art critics to ridicule this technique. But today, we see its influence in the modern world, where computers and TVs use the same method, proving its enduring significance in the art world.

I enjoyed painting this piece by George Seurat. Putting dots in place is therapy. I took seven hours to complete this work. As this is classwork, I needed three to four classes before completing it. Pointillism teaches us to have patience. Patience is a virtue. My mom told me I had no patience when I was young. As I grew older, I realised how crucial patience is in our lives. We can lose friendships with impatience. Friendships are vital for our mental well-being. I want to add this quote to my thoughts.

” Patience is not

simply the ability to

wait – it’s how we

behave while we’re

waiting” Joyce Meyer

    1. Thanks Itty, I appreciate your feedback knowing what a critic you are. That means a lot to me and keeps me motivated. It is not easy. But it is therapy,

      Thanks
