Resilience

3rd September 2023 Dr Priyalatha & Beena

ย Hi, I want to share what Priya wrote about my colour-pencil drawing of Mount Santubong in Kuching. Using coloured pencils is a challenge. I know there are some mistakes in my perspective aspect of the mosque. We can see Mount Santubong wherever you drive in Kuching. The shape has always mystified me. Is it an older woman, or is it a young girl who is lying down?๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”. Let me know what you see in the comments๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž.

ย Priya wrote this section.

ย The majestic mountain and river serve as reminders of two life lessons. Like a mountain, I aim to build a strong foundation and steadily ascend to greater heights while maintaining a quiet resolve. Hard work is essential, but not every pain and struggle needs to be shared with everyone.

ย Just as the river beautifully mirrors the mountain, I must continually reflect on my actions and practices to remain humble and generous toward others.

ย Thank everyone for being supportive. Many of you commented that the painting was very serene. I posted what Priya wrote: Mountains are a source of strength and resilience.

  1. Mt Santubong is like Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. That city being sandwiched by the mountain and the see is narrow but elongated:hence you can see Table Mountain from anywhere in CT.
My eyes could trace an old woman(as if laid on a postmortem table-yes, it is a horrible visualization ๐Ÿ˜ฅ- from right to left.
But when my eyes moved over from left to right, focused especially along the darker blue, it was young lady, seductive poised ๐Ÿ˜„(compelling the onlooker to contemplate on two stages of life perhaps?)
Thank you, for yet another beautiful piece of art. โค๏ธ
