3rd June 2025 Kala & Beena
This painting by Kala, reminiscent of the hiking treks I’ve experienced in Kuching and its surrounding areas, beautifully captures the essence of nature. The rocks by the river, set against a lush green backdrop of trees, exude a tranquil beauty that inspires an appreciation for the natural world. I can almost hear the serene melody of the river gently flowing over these rocks.
Have you noticed these rocks? They are often smooth and rounded. Don’t be deceived by these rocks and attempt to walk on them. They can be quite slippery, and the risk of falling is considerable. Therefore, I usually avoid stepping on those rocks and opt for a longer route instead. If I were to fall, it would be challenging for those accompanying me to assist me out of that forest. So, enjoy the trek at a leisurely pace; don’t hurry to finish it.
Here, I draw a parallel between the rocks in the river and life’s decisions. Rushing into things can often lead to unintended consequences, much like slipping on the river rocks. It is crucial to take the time to make decisions and to feel empowered and in control. Do not let others pressure you into rushing, as you might end up regretting it for the rest of your life.
