2nd December 2024 Mrs Polly Edward & Beena
Mrs Polly Edward’s painting of lemon tea, with its vibrant colours and intricate details, offers a fascinating cultural perspective. It reflects the diverse tea-drinking traditions around the world, where there is no reason not to have a cup of tea.
Polly’s painting brought back memories of enjoying lemon tea at our local coffee shops. Our tea-drinking practices are diverse and fascinating. For instance, there’s the ‘teh tarik”. Tarik ‘is a unique method of pulling the tea from one cup to another, creating a froth on top. The use of condensed milk instead of sugar adds a delightful twist. It’s hard to say if the sweetness makes us feel so content while sipping, but we always leave with fond memories.
I’m curious to hear about your own tea-drinking experiences. Please share them with me. 🤗🤗
