The 700th Story

6th October 2025 Beena

We’ve reached a significant milestone-our 700th story. To celebrate this collective achievement, I’ve displayed Mr Nandakumar’s captivating abstract art.

I wish to thank every contributor who has supported this website, including the new contributors (Ms Teresa Liew, Dr Ittymani and Ninu, Dr Mariam Philip, Ms Lo Yen Yen, Mrs Nalini Rajappan, and Mrs Lathika Vijayaraghavan) who recently joined to make this possible. A major contribution came from Mr Nandakumar, who provided the abstract art for our 700th story, and Ms Wendy, who has been instrumental in providing Chinese-style art. I would like to thank Riccardo, Dona Wee, Tang, Allan and Stefanie for the photos and Muru for being my constant critic who helped me improve my art.

Reaching our 700th story in just under four months proves the steadfast support from both regular and new contributors. I’m truly grateful for your backing and look forward to our continued collaboration. I also want to thank all the Friday readers for their insightful comments, which have greatly influenced my musings here.

I hope we can achieve our goal of 1000 stories through the steady contributions of each and every one of you. Your role in this journey is essential, and I want to express my deepest gratitude. Please share this website with your family and friends. Based on the feedback I have received, many look forward to the stories of the paintings. Your engagement and feedback are what keep this community vibrant and special. They feel they learn a lot about art as well as the interpretations. That is our greatest achievement, and it’s all thanks to you.

    1. Dear Lathika
thank you for appreciating my abstract Ganesa, i did this water color in 2020
I used bright colors as very often he is depicted darker hues
thanks once again for those kind words

  1. I’d like to read Nandu’s message behind this painting. Without my glasses I thought it looked like the Edo period Japanese samurai’s formal attire with the exaggerated shoulders. On closer look, I saw two eyes and what seemed to be a female form in the clutches of suited arms.

    1. DearLo Yen Nyuk
the message might not be that loud and clear but it means a prayer to remove obstacles as i have depicted lord Ganesa who in hindu mythology is said to help people overcome the obstacles they face, since its not an impressionist painting i did a stylised version anatomy of this God in the books describe him as a person with a mans limbs plus two arms and above the neck is the head of an elephant
