It is truly remarkable that we have reached the milestone of our 800th story in just three months—a testament to the passion and dedication of our vibrant community. This period also saw the arrival of several newcomers: Mr Freddie Voon, Ms Ng Paik San, Dr Kho Boon Chong, Dr Sheeba George and Emilia, our youngest artist, who is only five years old, each bringing fresh perspectives and energy.
I chose Wendy’s painting of the waves as the cover because it perfectly symbolises the powerful impact our contributors are making—together, we are truly making waves on this platform. Our regular contributors continue to inspire: Ms Kala, with her distinctive Kala Pohl paintings; Ms Wendy, whose Chinese-style artwork captivates; Mr Nandakumar, branching into pottery; Dr Shobha Panicker, transforming everyday objects into art; Dr Mathew George, crafting intricate cross-stitch portraits; Dr Ittymani and his wife, Ninu, illuminating our world with their creations; Angela Huam, painting scenes from her travels; Joy, whose watercolour animals celebrate friendship; Mrs Nalini Rajappan and Mrs Lathika Vijayaraghavan, enchanting us with Indian mural art; Dr Marilys Corbex, with her vibrant collages; and Mr Mani Menon, whose pen-and-ink drawings spark endless inspiration and stories. Mrs Suchitra Narayan returned with her childhood painting.
The thoughtful comments from our regulars during Friday greetings have fuelled my imagination, inspiring new stories week after week. Readers’ feedback on the artwork has fostered a sense of community and dialogue. Special thanks to Dr Riccardo, Datin Dona Wee, Dr Tang, Lama Kunga, Dr Mariam and Dr Allan (our website’s co-founder) for sharing inspiring photos to paint from.
