The painting attached to this story contains many four-petaled flowers. These flowers are exceptional because the four petals were the first drawing I picked up from my Mother. As a tiny tot, I was keenly observing them with awe.
Sixty years on, I noticed that I was doodling the same flower with four petals. It was easy to draw them, draw a cross, connect the free ends to form circles, and put an “ in the middle of all the petals to highlight the wrinkles in each flower.
My Mom used to stitch these flowers at the corners of the pillow cover. Whenever I see such simple flowers drawn, I remember Mom for a fleeting moment. As we grow older, we learn the value of simple things that go unnoticed or take them for granted.
Today, if this gets published, her art will reach its global platform. When such things happen, we can only physically write ART SURVIVES THE ARTIST—Nandu. The older generation had small tricks to keep their children occupied, so I dedicate these “flowers” to her.

More than a visual treat, it’s a tender echo of memory—stitched with love and nostalgia. These blooms radiate maternal warmth and an enduring legacy. Truly, this is a work where art doesn’t just survive the artist—it carries her spirit forward. A job well done, NandaKumar Chetta! 👏👏
Thanks Dillu for the nice words
It’s really amazing that in our fleeting moment of life, how we fail to recognise things of simple invaluable inputs our parents. It takes a while for us to recognise and value them. It’s really a sweet reminiscing.
Thanks Ramesh
Let’s keep those fleeting moments alive
Mom in her own way sowed the seeds of art into you. You have carried that in you for years and now you are that tree that produces beautiful art inspite of your physical constraints.
You are admired bro!
