28th April 2026 Kala & Beena
When Kala shared the acrylic painting she created two decades ago and told me she planned to revisit it, I felt a surge of anticipation. Witnessing the remarkable transformation filled me with joy and admiration. Here are her inspiring reflections:
“I wanted to share what I was thinking as I decided to repaint an old painting instead of throwing it away. Life is about constant change. Our problems arise because we don’t want change and we fight it. What if we accept and realise that we ourselves have changed, and it’s ok to look at things with a different perspective, a new approach and attitude 😁. Sometimes we find something different but equally beautiful”.
Reflecting on my own experience, I realise that what we discard often holds untapped potential. With a fresh perspective, something once overlooked can be transformed into something spectacular—or, at the very least, meaningful. Change is inevitable, but embracing it with hope allows us to discover unexpected beauty and possibility.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this transformation. I’ve presented both paintings as a series—Series 1 reveals the vibrant new vision, while Series 2 showcases the original work. Seeing them side by side highlights the power of renewal and a fresh perspective.
