Let me continue with the subject of buildings, focusing on Venice—a city instantly recognizable and universally celebrated. Its iconic skyline, shimmering canals, and historic architecture have inspired countless artists. Photographers, painters, and creators in every medium are drawn to capture its essence, and images of Venice can be found on display for sale everywhere.
When Kho sent me his acrylic painting of Venice, I was genuinely astounded. The radiant sunlight on the buildings, the shimmering reflections in the water, and the vibrancy of his colours brought the city alive on canvas. His brush strokes were crisp and deliberate—a quality I deeply admired and sought to emulate. Kho once advised me: place your stroke with intention, and let it stand—so the painting remains vivid and unspoiled. I truly learned from this master’s wisdom.
Speaking of freshness and clarity, these qualities matter not just in art, but in every part of life—we crave fresh food, clean water, and crisp clothing. The same principle applies to painting. I have lost count of how many times my own impatience led to muddied colours, simply because I couldn’t wait for the first layer to dry. True brilliance—whether in art or in life—often requires patience.
