Our Priorities

28th December 2025 Mani & Beena

When I first encountered this ink-and-acrylic butterfly, I was captivated by the intricate background Mani rendered in ink and pen. This piece exemplifies Manis distinctive voice among the abstract paintings on this websiteits compelling imagery urges us to pause, reflect, and focus on what truly matters.

As our conversation about Mani’s work continued, I delved into his creative process. He described spotting a Tiger Butterfly perched on a hibiscus flower, its vibrant wings commanding his attention and sparking inspiration. The butterflys striking colours became the focal point, mirroring the clarity we seek in our own lives.

Too often, our priorities blur as we juggle countless tasks, leaving many unfinished and ourselves overwhelmed. This cycle breeds stress and a sense of defeat. Yet if we pause and realign our focuschoosing what we can realistically accomplish within our meanswe invite calm and fulfilment. The simple act of completing something, no matter how small, can transform our perspective.

Some people take on endless projects, delegating responsibilities to others, but I am speaking to those of us who find genuine satisfaction in seeing our work through to completion. If we could channel our attention, as the Tiger Butterfly does amid a world of distractions, we might experience less stress and greater well-being. Let Mani’s butterfly remind us to focus on our priorities and, in doing so, find beauty and purpose in what we complete in 2026.
