Hello. This is Egeskov Castle in Billund, Denmark. I painted Europe’s best-preserved Renaissance water castle using ‘pointillism’ in acrylics. The colour blending is done with dots, and the shade is applied layer on layer.
According to legend, it took an entire forest of oak trees to build the foundation, hence the name Egeskov (oak forest). That was good to know after investing those hours in my little project….
I would love to add this quote:
“You have to
fight through some
bad days to
earn the best
days of your
life”.

Hi Joy
I love the way you created those reflections in the water. I have wondered how to paint that. Seeing how you did it, I now have more courage to attempt that.
Thanks for your contribution

This is beautiful. The pointillism technique really captures the glistening and reflective effect of the water.
If the legend is true, the then owner was lucky there was no environmental bodies to protest his unsustainable action.
