Brain Wired Differently Series 1

20th May 2026 Beena, Elly & Mani

Hello, I’m excited to share a captivating series of abstract art. While I often find myself challenged by the enigmatic nature of abstract art, its allure is undeniable to many. For years, I have been fascinated by the idea that our brains may be uniquely wired to perceive and appreciate art in diverse ways. Recent insights even confirm this intriguing possibility.
Those who can interpret abstract art seem to possess a remarkable openness to experience—a willingness to let go of concrete patterns and embrace ambiguity. Our brains instinctively look for meaning, but when faced with abstraction, they may enter a meditative, expansive state. Neuroscientists like Eric Kandel suggest that abstract art liberates the mind from the constraints of everyday reality, inviting us to explore new dimensions of thought. Perhaps my own mind is more anchored in reality, but I admire those who can transcend it.
As part of this series, I will showcase the abstract works of Elly Jaap and Mr. Mani Menon. I invite you to engage with these pieces, share your interpretations, and join the conversation in the comments below. Let’s celebrate the fascinating ways our minds perceive and make meaning from art.
