A Christmas Tree

25th December 2022 Beena

Merry Christmas to everyone 😊😊😊. I love the month of December. It is a time to reflect. I reminisced about this year, as it has been challenging since Mika’s passing. I have come to terms with my loss as I see so much needless suffering in this world.

Why can we experience the joy of Christmas in December but forget it for the rest of the year? Humans have a short memory for some stuff, but we remember inconsequential stuff foreverπŸ€”πŸ€”. However, animals live in the moment. They don’t stay angry or sad for long πŸ˜…πŸ˜…. I know from my experience with my gals. I can reprimand them, but within seconds, they forget it😍😍and shower me with their wags and licks.

I love Christmas trees. German Lutherans lit the first tree with candles in the Cathedral of Strasbourg in 1539. The decorations were simple. Now all types of Christmas decorations adorn these treesπŸ˜†πŸ˜†. Usually, it is a family event decorating the tree with presents at the bottom. Many years ago, I was with a family during Christmas, and I could see the joy on the faces of the children when they opened their presents. Sometimes, they were unhappy with the giftπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜’. Parents go to great lengths to get these gifts but sometimes feel unappreciated πŸ€”πŸ€”.

Nevertheless, when these kids become adults, they will appreciate what their parents did for them. Do I have wishful thinking here🀨🀨? Anyway, wherever you may be, enjoy what you have. I hope you liked the whimsical Christmas tree I painted this morning. It looks like it is spinning on the apex of the North poleπŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas🐢🐢🐢.

  2. Lovely painting and musings about Christmas. Well done Beena. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you my dear friend.

  3. Your tree looks like a stack of beautifully laden hearts.
Our Christmas this year was rather special. Our pastor came to our house with some musicians for a mini β€œservice” with a reading, songs and prayers. This was because my father has not been attending church physically due to covid and his advanced age. He even got a present! We were very touched.

Here’s a riddle for you: What is Santa’s nationality?

    1. Haha, I never saw the hearts at all. Your eyes are very sharp, because now I only see the hearts:). Thanks for pointing that out to me.
