The Life of a Cat

These furry creatures never fail to attract attention in every alley they conquer with purr-fect wisdom. Here in Dr Beena’s painting, two black cats are strolling in the alleys of Bivona, Spain. There seems to be nobody around this medieval peach kingdom, so they have the whole alley for themselves. How wonderful!!

Have you ever noticed how cats prance around as though they own the whole place?

Long ago, we used to keep cats for a purpose. Yes, to get rid of the mice. Over time, that role has evolved. Now they are pampered family members who feel that they have done well in life, for you to deserve them. Someone once asked me to comment on the success of a street cat. She came up with this remark:

Most cats at the age of 5 will have a house, a passive income and a full-time staff that works for them. They started from the streets.

That got me thinking. How did cats manage that? Is it their cuteness, beauty, adorable and playful acts that melt humans to bring them home and become their permanent staff?  They even possess the power to make humans sing silly made-up songs, add fun toppings on dinner servings and give forehead kisses. 😂

Have you heard a cat owner talk to her/his cat and get a reply back? Give them a tummy rub and get cat giggles. Well, looks like cats are here to stay whether to stroll the streets, meet their friends or run back to their human homes for meals and love. We too knowingly or not find their antics and presence a good form of therapy to release stress and feel good.

So to the two cats roaming a deserted alley in Bivona, hope they find their way home through the alleys. 💕

  1. Hi Vasanthi

Thank you for that educational story about cats. I am only familiar with dogs, so it was enlightening to know about cats. Please keep writing, it was a delightful read.
