I am always fascinated by the stories the boatman has in his travels. I don’t know if the readers know about Alleppey in Kerala. It is a small place with tons of waterways. The mode of transport is often by boat. I painted this boat with no frills in watercolour. I want the boat to rouse diverse thoughts in the viewers.
The day begins with the newspaper delivered by boat to the houses along the river bank. The chatter of the children and teachers going to school very early in the morning shatters the silence of the morning. Later the office workers will begin the next round of boat trips. Boats transport many trading goods, and business people negotiate deals along the way. The boatman gets to hear all the latest gossip in town🤣🤣🤣. If only the boatman could pen his stories, they may become a best seller.
With modern technology, this humble boat will one day retire along with the boatman. Alleppey is famous for its annual boat races. It has become famous for tourists who wish to stay in a boathouse. It’s a unique and unforgettable experience. I would love to read your views about boats or boat races.
