Hello, guys; it has been a while since I posted my musings. I received many comments on my painting of the “Tree of Hope.” I painted this at an art workshop on the Tree of Life before the Lunar New Year 2024. The aim was to depict a tree with coins denoting prosperity for 2024. I painted this tree with acrylic paints on canvas.

I brought the picture home, made some changes, and painted those little treasures on the tree using yellow and gold paint. When I posted, I labelled the painting as Tree of Hope rather than Tree of Life. Many of you made your own wishes to the Tree of Hope. Some asked me, “Why is the tree barren? There are no leaves, and yet there are golden fruits?” Other friends sent me photos of barren trees in their park/garden.

It got me thinking. We all need hope to live. Even during our darkest moments, we hope for a bit of light to help us. That light fills us to live for that moment. I looked at my painting. The tree is rather colourful and has an odd shape. Though there are no leaves, the branches have golden gems. My interpretation of this tree is that despite all the dark moments we face occasionally, hope keeps us alive. Those golden gems on the branches represent Hope. The gnarled tree represents the ravages of life. The absence of leaves represents the dark moments in our lives. The blue sky with clouds in the background and the vibrant foreground represents the Universe filled with peace.

We have our unique path of life. We make many mistakes. That is our learning board. At some point, we learn to treasure the gems of knowledge and achieve peace even when we are suffering. Well, did that sound too heavy🤔😂? These are my thoughts on this abstract painting of the Tree of Hope😊. Keep hope alive, and value your gems my dear friends🙏.
