Canterbury City

3rd August 2024 Angela & Beena

Hello, everyone. I’m thrilled to share Angela’s stunning painting of the Westgate Gardens of Canterbury. Her portrayal of the beautiful buildings and serene gardens in the background is truly captivating.

Canterbury, a city and a UNESCO World Heritage site, uniquely blends history and modernity. It boasts the oldest extant school, the King’s School, and the Canterbury Cathedral, the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury. With the highest student-to-permanent resident ratio in Britain, it’s a city that’s always buzzing with life.

Canterbury’s rich history dates back to prehistoric times when it was occupied by the Celtic Cantianci. In the first century AD, the Romans captured the settlement and transformed it with new streets and a grid pattern, leaving a lasting imprint on its history.

I hope you enjoyed the painting as much as I did. Please share your thoughts on your travel to Canterbury🫠🫠
