Today, I am posting my painting of the view from my window. I painted this in watercolour and ink. I hope you enjoy my perspective of Orchard Road in Singapore.
The Good
Orchard Road is a vibrant hub, always buzzing with life. Whether it’s the allure of Orchard Ion or the charm of Ngee Ann City, there’s always something intriguing to see. Whenever I need a change of scenery, I take a stroll down Orchard Road, soaking in the lively atmosphere. Plus, with the Orchard MRT NS and TEL lines nearby, the entire island is just a train ride away.
The Bad
However, this luxury comes at a cost. The MCST fees, or condo maintenance fees, are undeniably steep, often reaching into the thousands. But what you get in return is a lifestyle of opulence, with access to swimming pools, tennis courts, saunas, and indoor gyms. Even if I were offered a free apartment, the thought of these exorbitant fees would give me pause. It is unsuitable for people who like nature reserves, rivers, sea etc.
The Ugly
On a lighter note, last Saturday, my daughter and I had a rather comical dining experience. We arrived at Orchard Ion and Ngee Ann City around 2.30 pm, only to find every eatery packed with long queues. After a bit of a search, we stumbled upon an empty restaurant, which we soon realized was empty for a reason-it was quite the pricey affair! 🤣
