A Contented Tiger

12th November 2025 Ms Wendy & Beena

Hello everyone. When Wendy sent me this unique painting of a tiger, I was deeply intrigued. She beautifully captured the essence of a tiger in a Chinese-style watercolour painting.

The tiger in the painting seems to be on a prowl, but with a smile. It’s interesting to observe that when dogs are happy, they relax their faces with an open mouth and show their teeth. In contrast, when tigers are content, they squint their eyes, keep their ears upright, and let their tails hang loosely. This tiger has had a good meal and is feeling satisfied, going for a stroll.

I’m interested to hear if any of you have had personal experiences with understanding your pet’s expressions. Please feel free to share your stories.
