Fireworks

When I shared my watercolor painting of fireworks, it immediately captured everyone’s attention and admiration. To achieve the dazzling brilliance of the fireworks, I used masking fluid to preserve those pure, sparkling whites that make the bursts come alive. Layer after layer of rich color brought depth and vibrancy to the sky and its reflection in the water, transforming the scene into a celebration of light and motion.
Now, let’s talk about fireworks themselves. How many of you truly enjoy them? Personally, I’ve always struggled to appreciate fireworks. Even as a child, I dreaded festivals filled with their relentless noise, which drowns out every other sound and fills our homes with thick smoke, leaving us smelling like we’ve been at a bonfire. It still baffles me that some people believe the old myth about fireworks scaring away monsters—a story that seems out of place in today’s world.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on fireworks. I can appreciate the ones that paint the night sky with color and light, but the deafening firecrackers hold no appeal for me.
