The Coconut Tree Series 1

24th April 2026 Kala & Beena

I am excited to share two captivating paintings by Kala, created with bold acrylics. Each artwork showcases the iconic coconut tree, brought to life with vibrant, striking colours that immediately catch the eye.

The coconut tree thrives in tropical regions worldwide, standing as a symbol of resilience and abundance. While the fruit is prized, every part of the tree serves a purposeproviding fuel, building materials, cosmetics, and folk medicine. The white flesh is a staple food and a source of nourishing oil, making the coconut tree indispensable to countless communities.

I am reminded of the film “Cast Away(2000), in which Tom Hanks survives for years, relying on his resourcefulness and a coconut tree for sustenance and shelter. Kala’s beach scene, framed by majestic coconut trees, evokes the same sense of endurance and connection to nature, making her art profoundly resonant.
