Here is a beaver in watercolour. A beaver’s family is called a colony. The adults build lodges and channels, maintain dams and store branches underwater to survive the winter. Beavers groom each other.
Young beavers, called kits, are born one to six at a time and are often found working alongside their parents. Young beavers stay with their families for about 2-3 years before venturing out for a chance to start a new colony.
