Today is my birthday, and to celebrate, I shared an acrylic painting of vibrant flowers blooming in a sunlit field, overlooking a shimmering stream that winds towards a majestic river and distant mountains rising against the sky.
Birthdays are more than just dates on the calendar; for most, they are moments of reflection and celebration. People honour them in ways both simple and grand, and in some places, festivities begin weeks in advance. To me, each birthday is a meaningful milestone—a reminder to cherish a life lived with purpose. Yet I sometimes wonder: if life has been marked by hardship, what does a birthday truly signify?
A birthday becomes truly memorable when it is spent meaningfully—especially by bringing joy or comfort to someone else, no matter how small the gesture.
