Hello everyone. After a long pause, I’m inspired to share my reflections with you today, on this meaningful holiday. Recently, I painted a radiant sunlit path in watercolour, inspired by a photo from Hubert—the intrepid traveller. The scene, set in San Francisco, captivated me with the way sunlight illuminated the ascending stairs. Soon, I’ll also share Kala’s evocative acrylic painting of a sunlit path, inviting you to see light through another artist’s eyes.
Back here in Kuching, we’ve endured relentless haze for over a month, and conditions have only deteriorated. The sun now hangs in the sky like a muted orange orb, barely piercing through the thick, suffocating smog. Even city buildings fade into the haze as you drive, a daily reminder of nature under siege.
Moments like these remind me why sunlight is so precious. Its warmth lifts our spirits and nourishes our well-being—yet, as with all good things, it must be enjoyed in moderation. Despite the risks, I would choose sunlight over the oppressive haze any day. What’s truly heartbreaking is that our own actions, rooted in unchecked greed, are dimming the light for future generations. This planet is our only home, and yet we seem intent on sacrificing it.
