3rd January 2024 Juny Abraham and Beena
The Golden Oriole by Juny Abraham. I love the way Juny has created this beautiful bird using needlework. Needlework is challenging for many of us in our golden years. Sorry, Juny, I must let the world know that we are all in our Golden yearsπ€£π€£. I am delighted you completed the work and permitted me to post it on this website.
Golden Oriole is a secretive bird (a bit like us)π and hence likes to be high on a tree canopy. The male is, of course, brilliantly yellow, unlike the female version. In the animal world, the male has to be more attractive than the female, unlike in the human worldππ. It makes a lovely flute-like whistle at dawn. I have seen this bird, but only after you posted your work did I know it is called a golden oriole. It adds such a lovely distraction to my little garden.
May you continue to produce more needlework despite being in your golden years, proving everyone wrong that one can remain young at any ageπ€π€. Thank you, my dear; we are, in fact, secretive about our age, like the orioleπ« π« .

Juny has captured the shades of gold brilliantly! Not an easy task in needlework. It takes someone in their golden years to have mastered it.
Thank you Lo Yen. Infact I’m picking up the needle and thread after a long time. A cousin who visited inspired me to do so. Perhaps I’ll try the other birds who visit my garden this year. It has been a very satisfying experience.
Thank you Lo Yen. An artist who visited me recently, inspired me to pick up the needle and thread after many years. It has been a very satisfying experience. Perhaps I’ll do more this year.
