Impressionism

Angela has once again captivated us with her breathtaking paintings. This particular acrylic piece draws powerful inspiration from Monet’s iconic water lilies, radiating vibrant color and emotion.
Monet was a pioneering founder of Impressionism, transforming how the world sees art. He painted prolifically en plein air, capturing the same scene under shifting light and across changing seasons. His mesmerizing water lilies, immortalized in his garden at Giverny, remain some of the most celebrated masterpieces in art history.
Monet’s relentless dedication to capturing fleeting moments—whether in dawn’s glow or dusk’s shadows—commands deep admiration. Introduced to plein air by Eugène Boudin, whom Monet revered as his master, he forged his own artistic path. In a bid to escape his father’s business, Monet joined the army, and his time in Algeria left a lasting mark on his art, especially in his luminous use of light and color.
The Impressionist style invites us to perceive the world with fresh eyes, embracing suggestion over precision. Perhaps life, too, should be lived with this spirit—seeking beauty and understanding, rather than dwelling on imperfections.
