27th August 2025 Mr Mani & Beena
Today, we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, a special festival that marks the birth of Ganesh and is observed not only in India but also across various parts of the world. I was particularly struck by a post from Mr. Mani, depicting a beautiful Ganesh idol made from a colourful collection of flowers—rose petals for the ears, a long stamen for the trunk, and deep yellow flowers for the face.
One of the most delightful aspects of this festival is sharing Modaks, sweet dumplings made from rice flour, coconut, and jaggery. In my home, we lovingly prepare and serve these, a tradition that always brings a smile to my face. My mum’s special recipe, in my opinion, is unbeatable. The joy these Modaks bring is truly unparalleled.
This experience made me realise the profound joy that comes from giving. It’s a reminder that even the simplest acts of kindness can bring a smile to someone’s face. So, don’t hesitate to do small things. You never know who might benefit from them. Let your gifts come from the heart, and feel the joy fill your being. Enjoy the festival, which lasts for ten days.
