Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to present my latest still life painting—a vibrant green vase, paired with a crisp apple and a fresh cucumber. Painted in acrylics, each brushstroke was an exploration of colour, light, and form.
For the green vase, I layered different shades of green mixed with primary colours to create a rich spectrum of shades. The composition is a still life, featuring an apple and cucumber in front of the vase—each rendered in its own distinct tone of green. The apple pops with a hint of yellow, adding a lively touch to the scene.
I’ve always been drawn to round shapes, but painting them is never easy. Without carefully applying value and shading along the edges, the form risks looking flat rather than dimensional.
Recently, I’ve started exploring neurographic art and discovered that softening sharp edges is central to this practice. The technique is designed to promote relaxation, making it accessible to everyone—even those who don’t consider themselves artists. All you need is a pen or pencil and some paper, and you can quickly find calm through this creative process. I’d love to hear your thoughts on both the art itself and the idea of rounding off edges as a way to de-stress.
