Hello everyoneπππ. I hope everyone is well. When I painted this sunrise, it did cross my mind, will it look like sunrise or sunset? I painted this in watercolour, trying to create a fiery sky. I drew the Sun with a pencil but forgot to rub it off before I applied the paintπ€£π€£π€£. I used a rigger brush for the reeds in the foreground to create those fine lines. I posted it as my Friday greeting: “Happy Friday. Rise and shine”.
Β
When I read that many interpreted my painting as sunset, it set me thinking. If the sky is clear, the colours will be brilliant and muted when the atmosphere is thicker. More molecules will scatter the blue and violet, allowing warm colours like red, orange, and yellow to continue. Hence sunsets are often yellow, red and orange.
Β
But I love sunsets more than sunrise. I could never fathom thatππ€π€. So when Theresa replied with why I like sunsets, I thought I would share that hereπ. Sunset denotes the end of that day. Whatever may have happened, it is time to wind down. Sunrise is the reverse. It means that you have to face the day and solve issuesπ€¨π€¨.

Which part of Sun do you like? Please share your comments, as I would love to read other interpretationsππ.

I love both sunrise & sunset because it makes me feel so blessed to be able to watch the magical of life
Hi Farida
Thats wonderful to appreciate the magic of nature.:)
I really cannot choose
I like both
All depends on my mood
Love this!
Sunrises give a sense of anticipation and sunsets a lingering wistfulness.
Sunrises also can be beautifully orange and red like your picture.
Hereβs a photo that I captured of a summer sunrise last June in Satellite Beach, Florida.
Honestly I have never seen such a reddish sky. Almost thought it was a painting. Congrats for taking such photographs. Its captivating. Thanks.
Nice colorful painting .
The sun is so big and round floating on water. Did you use a 5 cents coin to draw the sun ? βΊοΈ
There is a Chinese saying “ε€ι³ζ ιε₯½οΌε―ζθΏι»ζ” meaning
” The sunset is infinitely good, but it’s almost dusk”
Like your story too. π
Thanks Chiam we are always fascinated by wonders of Nature.
