The Dalmatian

4th June 2024 Joy

I am posting a series on pets๐Ÿ˜Š. This one is a watercolour painting of a Dalmatian. Disney’s “101 Dalmatians” warmed children’s hearts, and soon, families welcomed the cute, cuddly pup into their homes.

Here are some key facts about Dalmatians, or Dals. They are beautiful, exuberant, vibrant, and energetic, requiring lots of exercise. They can reach 65 pounds, and it’s important to understand that they need mental and physical stimulation to prevent boredom. This is crucial for their well-being and the safety of your home.

A dog lover once described Dalmatians as clowns and as a breed that may do naughty things deliberately. Like Dobermans, Dals have a knack for manipulation and are happy to take over if given the chance.  ‘Chain them in the backyard away from family activities,’ she warns, ‘and they’ll go ballistic. They’ll break loose and jump six-foot fences to be with a beloved human.’

Are you considering a Dalmatian or any other dog breed? It’s not just about their temperament and compatibility with your lifestyle. It’s about making a dedicated lifetime commitment to their well-being. Be prepared to be a loving and responsible owner, ready to provide the care and attention they need.

I hope all of you enjoyed my paintings and the stories of my work๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™
