The Ship

10th December 2023 Amey Nair and Beena

Hello guys. I am delighted to post the art of Amey Nair, age seven, who loves to paint. His grandfather, Mr Nandakumar, posts regularly on our website. I wish Amey a great future as an artist.

Ships are always fascinating. I remember being on a giant ship and at sea for many days when I was young. I was seasick on many days with my mom. To date, I still have seasickness. My younger sister enjoyed her time on that ship๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ. I have wondered why, as kids, we like to draw a boat๐Ÿค”.

If you have beautiful memories of being on a ship, please share๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜Š

  1. Ship memories? I remember being on a big ship between Tunis and Marseille at night (the trip takes 24h), there was a serious storm and everybody was sick, including me, like really really sick. But it was fun at the same time : the ship was full of Tunisians and they were really making clear they were sick (you could hear many Rhaaaa, โ€œAllah save usโ€, etc). Each time there was a big wave, it was like in the roller coaster at the funfair: same screams. French would have never make such sounds. But I kind of liked it: you feel much less alone in your sickness ๐Ÿ˜† and some screams were so over the top that I could not help to laugh loud. In the morning the sea was calmer but the ship smelled awful, hopefully we reached land rapidly so it was not too long to bear. We felt like old friends on the boat, we had suffered all together and survived a storm. Zero risk to sink but stillโ€ฆ we were real adventurers !
